本課程選讀自中世紀迄 20 世紀初葉之歐陸文學作品。所讀作家包括 Dante, Boccaccio, Petrarch, Rabelais, Cervantes, Moliere, Racine, Chateaubriand, Flaubert 與 Thomas Mann。學生除熟讀作品內容之外，並須研讀 Mimesis 中之批評文字，訓練深度解讀作品之能力。

*Please take note of the following principles concerning the student reports:
(1) The students of each group take turns reporting. (No two students will be reporting at the same time.)
(2) The time for each student is ten to fifteen minutes.
(3) Each student should hand in a written report a week ahead of the time of her/his oral report.
(4) The groups that report on the same text can be also cosidered as one large group. The group leaders (to be elected by students of each group) should coordinate with each other to avoid overlap in the reports.
